We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What We Collect
- Name, email address, phone number, and delivery or billing address
- Payment information — processed securely through Shopify and Recharge. We do not store card details
- Order history, product preferences, and subscription details managed through Recharge Payments
- Communications including enquiries and feedback
- Website usage data: IP address, browser type, and pages visited
- For wholesale customers: business name, ABN, and account contact details
How We Use It
- Process and fulfil orders, including subscription orders via Recharge
- Manage your customer or wholesale account
- Communicate about orders, deliveries, account activity, and subscription status
- Send marketing communications where you have opted in — opt out at any time
- Improve our website, products, and services
- Comply with Australian legal and tax obligations
Consent
When you provide personal information to complete a purchase or create an account, you consent to its use for those purposes. For secondary uses such as marketing, we will ask for express consent or provide a clear opt-out. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting hello@brotherofmine.com.au.
Subscriptions — Recharge Payments
Our subscription service is powered by Recharge Payments. Your billing information, subscription preferences, and order history are stored and managed by Recharge under their Privacy Policy at rechargesubs.com. We receive a summary of your subscription details to service your account.
Third Parties We Share With
- Shopify Inc. — e-commerce platform and data hosting
- Recharge Payments — subscription billing and management
- Delivery and logistics providers — for order fulfilment
- Payment processors — for secure transaction handling
- Email and SMS marketing platforms
- Analytics providers including Google Analytics
We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Shopify's secure, PCI-DSS compliant servers. We never store card data directly. We retain data only as long as required by its purpose or by Australian law — minimum 7 years for financial records under the Corporations Act 2001.
Cookies
We use session cookies, analytics cookies (Google Analytics), and marketing cookies. Manage preferences through your browser settings — disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.
SMS Communications
If you opt in to our SMS program, we may send order updates and promotional messages. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. We do not share SMS data with third parties for their marketing.
Your Rights Under the APPs
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information
- Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention obligations)
- Lodge a complaint if you believe we have breached the APPs

02 — Terms of Service
This website is operated by Brother of Mine Coffee Roasters Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 48 630 825 562), trading as Brother of Mine Coffee Roasters, of U1/5 Crowley Street, Port Kennedy WA 6172 ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing our website or purchasing from us, you agree to these Terms. They are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia and the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) — Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). Our online store is hosted on Shopify Inc.
Eligibility
By using this site you confirm you are 18 years or older, or have parental or guardian consent. You must not use our products or services for any unlawful purpose.
Products & Pricing
All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) inclusive of GST. We make every reasonable effort to display products accurately — however coffee is an agricultural product and natural variation may occur. In the event of a pricing error, we will contact you before processing. You are not obligated to proceed at an incorrect price.
Subscriptions — Recharge Payments
Our subscription service is powered by Recharge Payments. By subscribing you also agree to Recharge's Terms of Service at rechargesubs.com.
- Billing: Charged automatically at your selected frequency, inclusive of GST
- Pricing changes: We notify you at least 14 days before any change. Cancel before new pricing applies — no penalty
- Pause, skip or cancel: Anytime via your Recharge portal or by emailing us. Changes must be received at least 3 business days before your next billing date. No cancellation fees
Consumer Guarantees — Australian Consumer Law
Our products and services come with consumer guarantees under the ACL that cannot be excluded. These include that goods are of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and match their description. If goods fail a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a remedy. Nothing in these Terms limits your ACL rights.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website — text, images, logos, photography, and design — is owned by or licensed to Brother of Mine Coffee Roasters Australia Pty Ltd. You may not reproduce or exploit any content without our express written permission.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, our liability is limited to resupply of the relevant goods or services, or a refund of the amount paid. We exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss. This does not limit any ACL rights.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.

03 — Refund & Returns Policy
Our products and services come with consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) — Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) — that cannot be excluded or limited. Nothing in this policy restricts those rights.
Your Rights Under the ACL
- A repair, replacement, or refund for a major failure
- Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage
- A repair or replacement if goods fail to be of acceptable quality (non-major failure)
Damaged, Incorrect or Faulty Orders
Every bag is roasted to order and checked before dispatch. If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or not of acceptable quality, contact us within 7 days of delivery at hello@brotherofmine.com.au with your order number and a photo if possible. We will offer a replacement, store credit, or full refund consistent with your ACL rights. We cover all return shipping costs for faulty or incorrect products.
Change of Mind
Due to the perishable nature of freshly roasted coffee, we cannot accept change-of-mind returns on dispatched orders. We roast to order — your coffee is made specifically for you. Not sure which blend? Try our Coffee Quiz or contact us before ordering.
Subscription Orders
You can pause, skip, or cancel your subscription at any time — no fees, no penalties. Cancellations must be received at least 3 business days before your next billing date to apply that cycle. If a subscription order is faulty or incorrect, contact us within 7 days of delivery.
Gift Orders
If a product was purchased as a gift and shipped to the recipient, any refund or store credit will be issued to the original purchaser.
Return Shipping
We cover return shipping for all faulty, incorrect, or consumer guarantee failures. For any other ACL-permitted return, we will advise on logistics at the time.

04 — Subscription Terms & Conditions
Our subscription service is powered by Recharge Payments. By subscribing you agree to these terms and to Recharge's Terms of Service at rechargesubs.com. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
What You're Signing Up For
A recurring coffee order at a frequency of your choice — available to retail and wholesale customers. At sign-up you select your blend, size, grind preference, and delivery frequency (weekly through to every 6 weeks). All preferences can be updated anytime before your next billing date via your Recharge customer portal.
Billing
- All prices in AUD inclusive of GST, clearly shown at sign-up
- Charged automatically at your selected frequency to your nominated payment method
- If pricing changes, we will notify you at least 14 days in advance
- Cancel before any new pricing applies — no penalty
Pause, Skip or Cancel
No lock-in. No fees. No guilt trips. Manage everything through your Recharge customer portal (link in your welcome email) or email hello@brotherofmine.com.au. Changes must be received at least 3 business days before your next billing date to apply that cycle.
Product Quality
Every subscription order carries the same consumer guarantees as any purchase. If an order arrives damaged or not of acceptable quality, contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will make it right.
Changes to These Terms
We will notify active subscribers of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued subscription after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

05 — Wholesale — Data Collection Notice
When you create a wholesale account with Brother of Mine Coffee Roasters Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 48 630 825 562), we collect your name, business name, ABN, contact details, and order history.
Why We Collect It
- Manage your wholesale account and process orders
- Communicate about products, deliveries, and account updates
- Meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations under Australian law
How It's Stored & Shared
Your information is stored securely through our CRM and Shopify platform. It is never sold to third parties. We may share it with delivery partners and software platforms solely to service your account, subject to confidentiality obligations.
Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any information we hold about you. Contact our Privacy Officer at hello@brotherofmine.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.

06 — Food Safety & Labelling
All BOM products are produced in compliance with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. Our packaging meets all mandatory requirements under Australian law.
Mandatory Label Requirements
- Product name and net weight (grams/kg, displayed on front of pack)
- Ingredient list in descending order by weight
- Country of origin — compliant with the Country of Origin Food Labelling Information Standard 2016
- Best Before date (required for shelf life under 2 years)
- Allergen declarations where applicable
- Lot/batch identification for full traceability
- Business name and address: Brother of Mine Coffee Roasters Australia Pty Ltd, U1/5 Crowley Street, Port Kennedy WA 6172
Allergens
Coffee is not a declared allergen under the Food Standards Code. Our products are roasted and packed at our Port Kennedy facility. If you have a specific allergen concern, contact us before purchasing and we will provide product-specific information.
Country of Origin
The origin of every coffee is clearly stated on our packaging and product listings, compliant with Australian labelling law. Blended products include origin percentages as required.
Product Type Notes
- Single origin: "Product of [Country]" clearly stated on pack
- Blends: Each country and approximate percentage declared
- Flavoured: All additional ingredients listed in full in ingredient list
- Ground coffee: Labelled as "Ground Coffee" with grind type where relevant
