MOFO FIREBIRD 42% Drinking Chocolate 1kg
Made by The Original Cocoa Traders in Melbourne, and it is the one you have probably had somewhere good without knowing its name. You may also know it as Koko Deluxe. Same chocolate, new bag.
Two ingredients. Organic fair trade cocoa and Australian cane sugar from Queensland. That is it. No fillers, no starch, no added flavours or preservatives, which is why it tastes like chocolate instead of sweet dust.
The cocoa is blended from three origins and you can taste all of them. Peru from the Tocache region brings stone fruit and honey. Tanzania from the Kilombero Valley brings the bitter cocoa and date fruit. The Dominican Republic rounds it out with roasted nuts, vanilla and caramel. Trinitario and Forastero beans, fermented in wooden boxes and jute bags, dried in open air on raised beds.
What lands in the cup is intense cocoa, roasted nuts and heavy vanilla. Rich enough to drink straight, and it holds its own under milk, so it works as a hot chocolate or dusted over a cappuccino.
1kg makes about 50 serves. Certified organic, fair trade, vegan, gluten free, halal, kosher and non-GMO. May contain traces of milk and soy.
